about me

I gained a B.A. (Hons) Fine Art from Leeds Metropolitan University and have exhibited widely in both group and solo shows, including Open Studio weekends. I have recently set up my studio in West Dorset and am a member of Dorset Visual Arts.

Among modern artists, my influences are the painters Patrick Heron, Helen Frankenthaler and Mark Rothko and the sculptors Joan Livingstone and Louise Bougeois.

other experience

In addition to my own practice, I have many years experience working in Education, most recently as Head of Art at a school for young people with Dyslexia which enabled me to develop my workshop leadership skills in a creative learning environment. This led to my involvement in stage set design and construction which remains one of my keen interests.

I have also organised Art Workshops and produced work to commission for business and private clients.
