Design

Designs for room dividers and screens have recently enabled me to bring a more figurative element into my work and led me to design a series of room-dividers for commission, based on my study of botanical plants and seed pods. As gardening and exploring pattern in nature is something I’ve long been fascinated by, this is a natural new venture in my repertoire.

These originated from my love of interior design, encompassing furniture, fabrics and wall coverings. The late 19thC  and early 20thC design has always been an inspiration, especially the work of the Bloomshbury set, Art Deco and then later the post-war designs of Lucienne and Robin Day and Marion Mahler.

These pieces are made to commission and include stitched panelling, applique and stencilled panels for free standing dividers, shutters, fire screens and panelling.
